Robeson County Revels

It appears that the Revels in Robeson County, North Carolina really consist of two different Paternal lineages. The first Revels paternal line in Robeson County, NC was the E-FT380130 line who came to Robeson County, NC when Robeson County formed from Bladen County, NC in 1786. Which Edmond Revels born about 1738 was in Bladen County, NC. As Mr. Leonard Wilson researched back in 1916, he had stated this Revels family came from South Carolina from the PeeDee Basin and went across the Little Pee Dee River into Robeson County, NC, which at the time was known as Bladen County, NC. Some researchers confused this Edmond Revels 1738 as the Edmond C Revel of Edgecombe County, NC, really, they’re nothing more than just Uncle and Nephew relationship. This Edmond lived until about 1803.

The other Revels Paternal lineage didn’t get to Robeson County, NC until about 1813/1814. This Paternal lineage is known as the O-BY60500, which they had come from Sampson County, NC by the name of Nathaniel Revels and his children. Now in Robeson County, NC there was already a Nathaniel Revels who was born about 1778, this Nathaniel Revels was a Haplogroup E-FT380130 line. A Descendant from his son Elijah Revels 1813 who has solid connection from Nathaniel Revels 1778 showed to be a Haplogroup E and matched to the E-FT380130 line. We did had one descendant from Raiford Revels who did YDNA/BigY DNA and he showed to be the O Haplogroup line, however in Nathaniel Revels 1778 will in the 1860’s, he never named a son Raiford, but he did name a son Elijah Revels 1813 in his will and they matched up to the Edmond Revels 1738 son Burwell Revels and the other Revels in Edgecombe County, NC and the Revels down in Georgia/Florida. The Nathaniel Revels 1778 would have been the son of Edmond Revels and Marmaduke Revels.
