Nathaniel Revels Group
The Nathaniel Revels group got started when Nathaniel Revel was in an Edgecombe County, NC Court Record showing to be bounded out to Mary fort as a farmer. He was a base-born Child of Sabra Revel who she wasn’t married. Nathaniel Revels is a proven O-BY60500 with only one source of YDNA and no outside sources of matching up to him with the Revels name. This means that the Descendants from John Revel 1718 and Edmond Revel 1720-25 just don’t simply match up to him in YDNA. He also doesn’t match up to the Eastern Shores Revell group or the Henrico Revell group. Just because they don’t match up into YDNA doesn’t mean they don’t match up through a female who had the last name Revel. In Court Records, the only females who had known to have the maiden name Revel were Sabra and Savory Revel. Naturally these two women’s children would have a different YDNA Haplogroup than the other Revell, Revel, Revels around them. Being that Sabra was in the older records show more conclusion evidence that she was a sister to John Revel 1718 and Edmond C Revell 1720-25. Many researchers keep putting Sabra as Edmond’s wife, how can she be his wife when court records show she never was married. Point to this conclusion is that Sabra Revel was just simply a younger sister to John and Edmond. To which in AutosomalDNA the descendants from Nathaniel Revels match to the descendants of John Revel 1718 and Edmond C Revel 1720-25, another point that has been proven to be that Sabra was a younger sister to John and Edmond C Revel. Sabra must have met an O-BY60500 slave from Southeast Africa Island Madagascar where it was found by researchers for Henry Gates to have shown that Madagascar had Indigenous people with the O haplogroup coming to America during the Slave trade ships from the Portuguese Slave trade Route. The only Revels known for working on the Slave trade ports in the Carolinas was Randolph Revel who was in William Gooch’s Regiment in 1740. It is possible that Randolph Revel brought in one of these slaves of the O haplogroup and Sabra Revel had children with him. The question also is, Was Randolph Revel the father of John Revel 1718, Edmond C Revel 1720-25, and Sabra Revel 1725-35, it surely is a very well highly possibility. For sure their father wasn’t Charles Revell and Edward Revell of Somerset County, MD or Accomack County, VA like some researchers believe. The problem with them is, it’s just based on them being in a 1725 tax list and assume they’re Mulattos because the E-FT380130 and the O-BY60500 groups were both Mulattos. This doesn’t mean that Randolph isn’t proven to be their father either. It makes more interesting facts that he was since he was in the Carolinas around 1700 and was known for transporting slaves to the Carolina’s. In some of the old passed down stories from William Elbert Revels family in Florida who told the story that a Revel ancestor was a slave trader, again the only slave trader known is Randolph Revel.
Many of the Descendants from Nathaniel live in North Carolina and up to Wisconsin when Mycajah Revels born about 1803 had left for Wisconsin, some of these researchers are Sandy Carr and Laura Denio who both been working on their family research for a long time. They both want to get their family history correct and know it’s a lot of work to do. They both don’t believe the James Revell Matomkin Indian as their ancestor being the fact that, there is no proof of him ever having any children as some of the older researchers also discontinue that part of their research due to the fact that no proof of James Revell having children. Some of the older researchers also discontinue that as part of their research because Sabra was proven to be unmarried and had a base-born child Nathaniel Revels. Only a few people trying to trace their lineage still believes James Revell the Matomkin Indian is their Ancestor. If anything was to be proven that John Revel 1718, Edmond Revel 1720-25, and Sabra Revel 1725-35 was descendants of James Revell the Matomkin Indian, it would be the fact that James would be a E-FT380130 and not a O-BY60500. This is not very likely because no proof has ever been found of him having children. DNA also shows the Revel-Revels got their Native American from a female and not from a Paternal Male line.
Another Interesting fact in Origin DNA some of the descendants from Nathaniel Revels are showing Northwest Africa, Spain, and other Areas that the E-FT380130 comes from. Some of these descendants from Nathaniel Revels are showing very little Native American or none just like the Revels descendants from John Revel 1718.
